Russia: Collection of Issues, 1858 to 1922, in Two Albums
Impressive and valuable collection of many thousand mint and used stamps including Postal History, sheets and multiples with a nice selection of duplication, cancellations, varities and better specialized examples. Items of note include two 1857 10k, one used the second pre-cancelled, 1858-1864 1k-30k unused, 1k mint block of four, 1865 mint and used paper varieties to 30k, 1866-1875 horizontal laid paper 10k and 30k mint blocks of four, vertically laid paper to 30k used, 1875 7k to 20k mint blocks, vertically laid paper 8k mint, 1883-1888 1k imperf., 1874 mint and used 7k, 1902-1905 vertically laid papers to 10k including some blocks of four, 1909-1912 and 1917-1923 with sheets, varities, Proofs, 1913 Romanov imperf. 10k, 15k pair, 20k pair, later issues with sheets, blocks, varities from the 1917 surcharged issue, 1917 Money stamps, 1922 Soviet Republic series, Fifth Anniversary and 1922-1923 Hammer and Sickle surcharges. Within the reference works there are a few facsimile items. A truly exciting collection that is sure to attract much attention and will require considerable time to properly view and embrace. Condition is actually very pleasing with many Fine to Very Fine items.
