Portuguese Rococo Walnut Commode
Mid 18th century
The rectangular molded top of serpentine outline, above a conforming case enclosing two short drawers and a long drawer, each with shell and eagle cast escutcheons, with plume and shell carved apron, raised on cartouche carved cabriole legs ending in ball and claw feet. Height 34 1/2 inches (87.6 cm), width 57 inches (1.45 m), depth 24 1/4 inches (61.6 cm).
