Group of Three Howard Greer Dresses 1940s
1940s
The first a sheath of black and white silk printed with rows of African musicians and warriors, the bodice with tucked sweetheart neckline, short kimono sleeves and open back slit, the skirt tucked at front hipline to create side drapes and soft front folds, trained back, the hem interior and sleeves lined with burnt orange crepe, the next a crepe sheath with kimono cut bodice sewn in alternating black and white bands, with open back slit and narrow square neckline, the narrow skirt slit in front and at sides, the last a flared princess line black crepe dress with off the shoulder neckline comprised of interwoven white bands, each size 8, each labeled: Howard Greer/Custom Original.
Varying conditions, the first damaged under left arm and discolored, with some damage at lower right skirt front, the second, good condition, some discolorations, especially at armscye, the third neckline discolored, worn.
