Ivory Brocade Robe a l'Anglaise
English, fabric probably Spitalfields, circa 1750
The silk woven with fruits and flowers in pastel colors, the dress reconstructed from original sack back form, skirt cartridge pleated into bodice, ruched elbow length sleeves, made-up stomacher from self fabric.
Good condition, silk fragile at shoulders, with some beginning splitting, damage at one armscye, two small holes in skirt, silk splitting in one area at hem, repaired.
