NEW YORK, NY -- Doyle holds semiannual auctions of historical and fine art photography. These sales feature classic 20th century photographs and portfolios by artists such as Berenice Abbott, Edward Steichen, Margaret Bourke-White, Ansel Adams, Alfred Stieglitz, Diane Arbus, Brassaï, Andre Kertesz, Henri Cartier-Bresson, among others, as well as the work of later artists including Aaron Siskind, Ray Metzker, Paul Caponigro, Harry Callahan etc. Contemporary photography includes work by artists Gregory Crewdson, Robert Mapplethorpe, Nan Goldin, Helmut Newton, Bert Stern, Tina Barney, Saul Leiter and others. 19th century work includes rare daguerreotypes & ambrotypes, interesting vernacular photography including Bentley’s famous Snowflake images, William Curtis’ photographs of Native Americans, and albums relating to travel and related subjects.
