. Boston: Ticknor, Reed and Fields, 1850. First Edition, first issue with ads dated "March 1, 1850" and "reduplicate" for "repudiate" at line 20, p. 21. Original publisher's brown cloth. 7 1/4 x 4 1/4 inches (18.5 x 11.5 cm); 322 pp., ads at front, title in red. Old dampstain affecting first and final leaves and faintly visible on covers, early pencil ownership signature, slightly cocked, light spotting and a few small stains, small gouge to joint, despite these flaws a bright and unrestored example. BAL 7600.
