Fine Pale Green Jade Covered and Pierced Imperial Tripod Incense Burner
Marked Qianqinggong, Qianlong Period
The base, which averages 4 mm. to 5 mm. in thickness, is carved with three stub feet issuing from finely-carved lion masks; on the interior of the base, the back of the masks and the feet have been hollowed out. The three-character mark of the Qianqinggong is under the three feet. The sides of the burner are set with two open, rectangular strap handles. The thin cover, averaging between 2.5 mm. and 3 mm. is pierced with the outline of three ruyi heads around a simplified flower bud finial; elaborate wood stand and fitted box. Width over handles 5 3/4 inches (14.6 cm).
