... London: T. Woodfall, 1805. First edition. 20th century three-quarters russet morocco, marbled sides. 11 1/4 x 9 1/8 inches (28.5 x 23 cm); [2], 72 pp., with 24 hand-colored aquatint plates, with a note from Winston tipped in opposite the title, extra-illustrated with a portrait of the author. Ink notations to title, the first four plates remargined retaining the printed text, slight embrittlement to the fore-edge towards the rear, overall a generally clean copy of this rare color plate work.
The majority of surviving copies of this work exhibit defects, due to the rather poor paper used; this is in all far better than the average copy. Abbey Scenery 29.
