. Court of St. James: 7 February 1936. Printed document accomplished in manuscript appointing E. Tomlin Bailey Vice-Consul at Southampton. Signed "Edward RI" at upper right and countersigned by Anthony Eden, with embossed seal. 12 1/2 x 17 inches (32 x 44 cm); framed. Vertical fold, toned at edges under mat; Together with ROOSEVELT, FRANKLIN. Document with printed signature, appointing Bailey to the same post, with large seal affixed. Washington: 3 October 1935. 16 1/2 x 19 1/2 inches (42 x 50 cm); framed. Some toning under mat; And a second example, appointing Bailey Vice-Consul at Warsaw in 1937. Housed loosely behind mat in frame.
Documents signed by Edward VIII are rare, as he was only King from January to December 1936.
