, comprising VAN BUREN, MARTIN. Document signed, appointing Henry A. Muhlenberg Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary to Austria. Washington: 8 February 1838. 11 1/2 x 15 inches (29.5 x 40 cm). Signed as President and countersigned by the Secretary of State. Not examined out frame but likely laid down, retains paper-covered seal, folds and spots; TYLER, JOHN. Franking signature. Washington: 29 October 1842. Signed as President on envelope sent to Rhode Island congressman Elisha R. Potter. Unexamined out of frame; POLK, JAMES. Signature as President with that of James Buchanan as Secretary of State, clipped from a larger document, circa 1845-47. 2 x 8 1/2 inches (5.5. x 22 cm). Unexamined out of frame.
