. London: Thomas Hurst, 1837. Full salmon morocco by Bayntun (Rivière), with an onlaid design on the upper cover of a woman in a white gown, cornerpieces on both covers of multicolor floral sprays tied with green ribbon, spine in six compartments similarly gilt, broad elaborately tooled dentelles, front doublure of turquoise morocco inset with a glazed portait miniature of a Victorian beauty with a lapdog, moire silk endsheets, all edges gilt, housed in a dropfront clamshell case by the binder, with their mark. 7 1/4 x 4 1/2 inches (18.5 x 11 cm); xxxvi, 432 pp., with ten finely hand-colored plates with overlays (and one other), demonstrating how to deal with various burdens e.g. "Management of Short Neck," bound as the frontispiece. A few minor flecks to the leather, but a fine example.
The portions on health and related matters, "furnished by medical friends," were revised by Sir Anthony Carlisle.
