The letter by Agassiz to Gould, the publisher of his Lake Superior: its physical character, vegetation, and animals, compared with those of other and similar regions (published 1850), discusses certain aspects of the typesetting of that work. The second Burroughs letter is of considerable interest, as it mentions John Muir and Luther Burbank, and visits made to both.
