. Amsterdam: Querido, 1934. First edition, inscribed by Albert Einstein as "A. Einstein" in 1934, with two verses of his composition, likely to his son-in-law Rudolf Kayser ("Rudi"), with the felicitation "Des lieben Freundin zum Gruss (roughly "Greetings to my dear friend). Publisher's black cloth. 8 x 5 1/4 inches (20 x 13 cm); 269, [1] pp. Some binding wear, the spine label illegibly worn, endpaper cracking at front hinge though structurally sound, the inscription slightly toned but firm, clear and legible.
Einstein occasionally inscribed Mein Weltbild in verse; the copy inscribed to his mentor Max Talmey, sold in 2010, had a shorter though related two-line rhyming inscription. The inscription in this copy is six lines of verse, plus felicitation, beginning

"Was der Fëder that entfahren/That der Rudi aufbewharen/Was mir selber längst entschwunden/Wird de Leser aufgebunden"...

"What the pen let slip, Rudi saved..."
