Brown leather-covered clamshell case with gold tooling, containing 23 plates with facsimile reproductions of the drawings, recto and verso, and accompanying text bound in Fabriano paper.17 3/4 x 12 1/4 inches (45 x 31.5 cm); 103, [1] pp. text with 50 plates with facsimile reproductions of the drawings, recto and verso, and a reproduction in the original size of Codex Saluzzo 312, which is an unpublished collection of Leonardo's studies of military architecture compiled about 1840. An immaculate set.
A definitive edition of all the Leonardo material assembled by Carlo Alberto of Savoy about 1840, including the famous self-portrait and the study for the angel of the "Virgin of the Rocks."
