AUDUBON, JOHN JAMES AND REV. JOHN BACHMAN The Quadrupeds of North America.
. New York: volume 1, J.J. Audubon: 1846; volumes 2 & 3, V.G. Audubon: 1851 & 1854. Three volumes (of what was once five, this set mostly text likely bound from the parts issue). Later three-quarters leather over marbled boards, edges speckled red. 10 1/2 x 6 3/4 inches (26.5 x 18 cm); half-titles in volumes 1 & 3, with 5 hand-colored lithographed plates in volume three numbered CLI-CLV, these being the supplemental plates first issued in 1854 (the full octavo set requires 155 plates). Some light spotting within, the bindings rubbed along extremities.
