Early blind-stamped calf, all edges gilt, gauffered. 4 3/8 x 2 3/4 inches (11 x 7 cm); [10], 611, [1] pp., collating a-4g^8, the opening of Kings with a border and illuminated initial (possibly done at a later date?), ruled in red throughout. Binding neatly rebacked, some soiling to title, generally a clean copy; Together with a copy of HIPPOCRATES. De natura humana liber [BOUND WITH] Hippocratis Aphorismi. De natura humana. De flatibus. Praesagia. De ratione victus. Galeni Ars medicinalis. Paris: Simon des Colines, 1534/1530, the first work missing several leaves after the title, the second complete in 188 ff. (terminal blank defective). Bound in period calf, restored.
The first work listed contains Kings, Chronicles (Paralipomenon), Esdras, Nehemiah, Tobit, Judith, Esther and Job, based on the translations of St. Jerome. The Bibliothèque Nationale online catalogue records the work at twelve locations globally; it is also recorded in Renouard ICP, III, 928.
