Pale Green-Glazed Covered Jar
Ly Dynasty, Thanh Hoa Province, circa 11th century
The cylindrical jar is molded on the narrow, flat shoulder with overlapping flower petals; the domed cover, void of decoration, holds the remains of five spurs. The cover is glazed on its top with an evenly-crazed pale green glaze and the body is similarly crazed, but the glaze runs in regular streaks around the body. Height 9 1/8 inches (23.2 cm).
