Various places, dates and publishers, includes volumes signed by the authors or volume presented to Tanner and family. Includes first and later editions. Publisher's cloth bindings of issue, most dust jackets lacking. Sizes vary, but mostly octavo format about 8 x 5 1/2 inches. Condition varies but some worn or faded, may contain other markings, some volumes without inscriptions, should be seen, sold as is.
An interesting group of mid-twentienth century fiction and non-fiction with inscriptions to Sheldon Tannen, owner of The "21" Club. Includes books inscribed by: James Thurber, Bennett Cerf, Gypsy Rose Lee, Jimmy the Greek, Otto Preminger, Katherine Anne Porter, Jacob Javits, Peter Maas, Helen Hayes, Ludwig Bemelmans (2, one with small drawing), Cass Canfield, Art Buchwald, Clive Cussler, Walter Lord and others.
