Attributed to Giles Grendey, circa 1740
Each padded backrest above an overupholstered seat raised on cabriole legs carved with acanthus leaves and pendent husks continuing to scrolled toes, on sunk casters.Height 37 inches (94 cm), width 25 inches (63.5 cm), depth 19 1/2 inches (49.5 cm).

Nicely carved, good color to legs, previous restorations, each with distressed upholstery; one chair lacking left front caster and with losses to carving surrounding, later corner blocks, with repaired break to back left leg and now with plugged repair; the other with later corner struts and blocks.
