one plate has a sharp hairline fracture to it center; the other seven plates appear to be in generally good condition, i.e.: no apparent rim chips, hairline cracks, gilding losses, etc.; some of the plate centers have light scratch marks from use, not of great consequence; gold maker's and retailer's stamp mark on the verso; some plates also have a black spot or dot next to the stamp mark, apparently placed there intentionally, however, the significance or meaning of this mark is not known; not blacklighted
