Two Russian Floral-Decorated Porcelain Plates
Imperial Porcelain Manufactory, St. Petersburg, period of Nicholas I (1825-1855)
Each circular, one plate reserved with flowers on gilt and cobalt blue ground, after a Sèvres service presented by Louis XV to King Christian of Denmark; the other centering a floral bouquet within a gilt border. Diameter of largest 10 3/8 inches (26.4 cm).
Provenance:
Acquired by the grandparents of the present owner in Russia or Europe before 1930

The Sevres style plate in good condition with light surface wear and light scratches in areas; no chips or cracks; the other floral decorated plate with an old restoration at 3 o'clock (visible in the catalogue photo).
