Gilt-Bronze Figure of Avalokitesvara
18th/19th Century
The standing figure with eight arms, the primary hands held in anjali mudra, dressed in a long dhoti, draped in jewels of inset hardstones, necklaces, armbands and anklets, the ten heads behind three-leaf diadem and one head with blue pigmented hair pulled back in a high chignon, the secondary hands in vitarkamudra, two hands holding a lotus and ritual ewer. Height 8 3/4 inches.
