Gilt-Bronze Figure of Amitayus
Seated in dhyanasana on an openwork throne draped in the front with a cloth with a flower head at the center, dressed in flowing robes and adorned with necklaces, armbands and bracelets, the face is cast with a serene expression below hair gathered into a high chignon, backed with a separately cast flaming aureole, incised along the base with the cyclical Gengyin date, corresponding to 1770. Height 8 1/4 inches.
