Chinese Straw and Ochre Glazed Pale Pottery Bactrian Camel
Tang Dynasty, 8th Century
Standing four-square on a rectangular base with head raised turning slightly to it's left in a braying action, the head tufts, throat, humps, tail and the top of the front legs ochre glazed and ruffled in places, the rest of the body with a pale straw glaze, each hump falling slightly in opposite directions, wood stand. Height 20 1/2 inches.
