Chinese Famille Verte Glazed Porcelain Dish
Kangxi Period
Of shallow form rising to a steep everted rim, painted with two scholars conversing on a high ledge beneath pine and surrounded by cliffs and waterfall, the foot ring left unglazed,the base with an eight-character mark reading Kangxi Xinhai Zhonghe Tang Zhi, meaning Made for the Hall of Central Harmony in the Xinhai year of Kangxi (corresponding to 1671). Diameter 4 3/4 inches.
