London: Longmans, Green and Co., 1914. First edition. Publisher's blue-green pictorial cloth gilt. 8 7/8 x 5 1/2 inches; xii, 312 pp.; frontispiece, 2 folding maps in rear pocket, plates, half-title. Spine ends lightly bumped, endpapers toned, maps repaired at fold intersections, ink stamp and blind stamp to front free endpaper.
Preferred issue, with gilt lion head to upper cover. Czech, Africa, pp. 24-25.
