London: East Africa Ltd., [1933]. First UK edition. Publisher's pictorial cloth gilt. 8 5/8 x 5 1/2 inches; xi, [4], 260, [18] pp.; frontispiece, plates, half-title, publisher's advertisements. Light wear to extremities, spotting to first and last few leaves, lightly and evenly toned throughout.
"Blunt was an elephant control officer in Tanganyika, hunting primarily in the Linda Province. He details the natural history and biology of the elephant, relates his experiences as a cultivation officer and provides an excellent chapter on past and present elephant hunters.
