"Comyn, formerly an officer in the Black Watch, joined the Egyptian Army and relates his adventures fighting the Mahdi, along with instances of big game hunting for elephant, rhino, buffalo and hippo primarily in the Sudd and Pongo iver [sic] region of southwestern Sudan.
