DRAYSON, ALFRED W. Sporting Scenes amongst the Kaffirs of South Africa.

Publisher's blue pictorial cloth gilt. 8 7/8 x 5 5/8 inches; hand-colored frontispiece and plates heightened with gum arabic, in-text illustrations, half-title, publisher's advertisements. Extremities a bit worn, somewhat overopened, light foxing to frontispiece and plates, bookplate to front pastedown.
"One of the earlier works on African sport, this details the author's hunting trip with a party of Boers through then mostly unsettled South Africa. In the plains near the Drakensburg Mountains, he hunted elephant, eland, hartebeest and leopard. He also provides descriptions of other game in the area, with much on the landscape and natives of old Kaffraria" (Czech). Czech, Africa, p. 85.
