Boston, Mass.: The Chapple Publishing Company, Ltd., 1915. First edition. Publisher's green cloth gilt with mounted photographic illustration to upper cover. 9 1/8 x 6 1/2 inches; xvi, [1], 410 pp.; frontispiece and plates after photographs. Spine darkened, extremities just touched, some toning, booksellers ink stamp to front pastedown and booksellers ticket to rear pastedown.
"Eagle had this volume privately printed based on his diary recounting his trips to Africa in 1911 and 1913. On his first trip, he hunted in British East Africa in the Guaso Nyero region for lion, roan, topi, sable, rhinoceros, buffalo and a variety of other game. Near Lake Natron, he bagged oryx and cheetah. Hunting in northwestern Rhodesia on his second trip, he collected elephant and kudu near Kolomo, then shifted toward the Karue River after hippopotamus, buffalo, sitatunga and numerous other species of game" (Czech).
