Publisher's printed blue wrappers, preserved in custom clamshell box. 8 1/4 x 5 3/4 inches; [ii], 26 pp.; vignette title page, errata slip mounted to verso of title. Wrappers toned along margins, short split to foot of backstrip, wear to wrappers where stapled, signed presentation letter mounted to inner wrapper.
Very scarce title, likely printed in a small edition. We trace no auction records and no copies are listed in WorldCat. The author included a letter to WWI veteran Colonel Clifton Lisle: "My dear Clifton: The Game Warden of the Sudan has asked me to write for their magazine a short account of a trip I took in the Sudan nearly 50 years ago. A few extra copies were printed and this is one. In giving an account of my expenses, I forgot to say that all the men except my personal servants provided their own food. I supplied plenty of meat."
