[HARTEBEEST] Draft letter to the editor of the New York Times
. Undated. Two-sided typescript with manuscript corrections. Lightly toned, short splits at folds, faint creasing.
Unsigned draft of a letter to the editor of the New York Times, with the aim of correcting an article asserting that the hartebeest is "a vanishing African [animal]." The author claims, "The Hartebeest, of which there are fifteen or more different species and sub species range in large herds on the african [sic] velt [sic] from the Cape to Somaliland on the East coast and hinterland of Africa and from the Cape to the interior of Morrocco [sic], Algeria, and Tunesia [sic] on the West coast of Africa." He then goes on to list the species and distribution of the hartebeest.
