"Bee recounts the adventures of R. S. Poultney from a manuscript given to him by Poultney. The latter arrived in South Africa in 1899 and proceeded to explore and hunt in the Lake N'gami regoin and into the Kalahari. He and his companions, armed with Martini-Henry rifles, bagged lion, kudu, duiker, wildebeest, hartebeest, springbok, giraffe, etc., though most of the game was hunted for the pot" (Czech).
