Publisher's green pictorial cloth gilt. 9 1/8 x 5 3/4 inches; xvi, 559; x, 521, 6 pp.; folding map and full-page map (each with hand-color in outline), frontispieces, plates, in-text illustrations, publisher's advertisements. Boards rubbed, a bit overopened, extremities worn and frayed, map with short tear near mount, evenly toned throughout.
