Japanese Traveling Shrine of Juichimen Kannon
18th/Early 19th century
The roiro case opens to reveal a gilt interior with designs of clouds and lotuses growing from pools of water. The central figure of Kannon stands on a single lotus base above rockwork and is backed by a flaming nimbus set with a small stupa.Height overall 20 3/8 inches (51.7 cm).

Additional Notes & Condition Report

Exterior good state, as are the mounts. Interior gold lacquer toned and rubbed in areas, as is the rockwork base. There is acceptable wear on the figure, but there are a few of the secondary heads missing.
