Comprising 61 letters addressed to his daughter, Princess Nina Georgievna, including: a letter dated July 16/29 which discusses Austria-Hungary declaring war on Serbia and preparations for war; a letter dated July 21 which describes Germany declaring war in Russia, a molebin with the Ulan Regiment and Emperor Nicholas II and Tsarevich Alexis and a speech by the Emperor on Palace Square; a letter dated August 16 which describes breakfast at Tsarskoye Selo with Emperor Nicholas II and the Emperor's plan to take Grand Duke George with him to the front.
