Grand Duke George Mikhailovich: Group of Letters, Petrograd and Vologda, 1918
Comprising 16 letters addressed to his daughter, Princess Nina Georgievna, dated March to June, including: a letter dated March 23 which describes his meeting with Moisei Uritsky, Chief of the Cheka in Petrograd and the Grand Duke's desire to escape Petrograd; a letter dated April 17/30 which discusses the evacuation of Emperor Nicholas II and his family to Tobolsk and the locations of other members of the Russian Imperial family; and a letter dated May 11/24 which discusses Emperor Nicholas II and his family being moved to Ekaterinburg, Lenin and Trotsky and the persecution of the Russian Orthodox Church.
