Comprising a teapot, cream jug, sugar bowl and sugar sifter, engraved with the crowned monogram of Arturo, Count de Cassini (1836-1919). Length of teapot 9 1/4 inches, total approximately 40 ounces, all in.

Arturo Paul Nicholas Cassini, Marquis de Capuzzuchi de Bologna, Count de Cassini (1836-1919), was born into a noble Russian family of Italian lineage. The family entered the service of the Russian Imperial Court during the Napoleonic Wars. Arturo's father, Paul Viktorovich Cassini, served as Russian Consul at Trieste and as a State Counselor to Venice and Arturo, a career diplomat, served as Ambassador to the United States during the Spanish-American and Russo-Japanese wars.

Oleg Cassini, Arturo's grandson, was raised in Italy before immigrating in the 1930s to the United States. Oleg pursued a career as a fashion designer and rose to fame in the early 1960s with his appointment by First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy as her exclusive couturier.
