Imperial Fabergé Jeweled Two-Color Gold and Guilloché Enamel Hat Pin
Workmaster Henrik Wigström, St. Petersburg, 1904-1908, scratched inventory number 78237
The egg-form finial surmounted with a tied ribbon and set with spiraling bands of rubies and diamonds, set on a spiral-twist stem with a collar enameled in translucent salmon and white over an engine-turned ground. Length 8 1/8 inches (20.6 cm.).
Provenance:
Purchased jointly by Emperor Nicholas II and Empress Alexandra Feodorovna from Fabergé on December 13, 1906 for 75 rubles.

Records indicate that the present lot was one of many objects which the Emperor and Empress purchased from Fabergé on December 13, 1906. The hat pin likely was intended as a Christmas gift for a family member, as the purchase was divided between their chancelleries.
