Russian Silver-Gilt Champlevé and Plique-à-Jour Enamel Kovsh and Spoon
Antip Kuzmichev, Moscow, 1889
Of traditional form, with pointed prow and heart-shaped flat handle, on spreading oval foot, engraved and enameled throughout with varicolored flowerheads, scrolling foliage and geometric motifs, the interior engraved with a monogram and the dates 1866-1891, the spoon similarly decorated and also engraved with a monogram. Length of kovsh 6 1/2 inches (16.5 cm.).
