Pair of Italian Neoclassical Painted and Parcel-Gilt Armchairs
Late 18th century
Each padded circular backrest within a rectangular frame, the spandrels carved with foliage, the armrests centering a bowfronted overupholstered seat with berried leaf-carved apron, raised on tapering square fluted legs. Height 35 1/2 inches (90.17 cm), width 23 inches (58.42 cm), depth 18 inches (45.72 cm).

Good restored condition commensurate with age and use, later painted and gilt decoration with rubbing and losses, minor worm damage in areas, shrinkage to elements surrounding upholstered backrest, as expected, scuffs to feet.
