Publisher's lithographic boards in jacket. 14 x 10 3/8 inches (36 x 26 cm); 187 pp., complete with 40 color lithographed plates and reproductions after Matisse's paper collages and drawings (all those in color listed in the table at rear). The color plates consist of 27 single page, 9 double-page, 1 triple sheet, and 3 quadruple sheet foldouts. A fresh copy with light wear in a slightly worn and lightly soiled jacket, a fine bright copy internally.
The text is by Pierre Reverdy and Georges Duthuit. A spectacular production, this is one of the most desirable of the Verve issues, printed by Mourlot and Teriade.
