Height 17 1/4 inches, width 16 1/4 inches.

Elizabeth F. Farnum was born December 10, 1787 and died probably in Salem MA June 6, 1837. She was the daughter of Mary Frye and John Farnam. She married in 1811.
Much like the Crowninshield example, Lot 388, this sampler exhibits traits commonly found in Essex County samplers such as figures in the lower register and the triangle border outlining the alphabet.
This lot includes family history.
