TANEY, ROGER B. Autograph letter signed.
[N.p.:] 15 July 1863. Single-page manuscript letter signed "R.B. Taney" to a Mrs. Carroll, 7 1/2 x 5 inches (19 1/2 x 13 cm); framed. Usual folds, one visibly creased corner and few spots, unexamined out of frame.
Here the Supreme Court Justice writes in the year before his death to a recent widow: "I know how dear Mr. Carroll was to his large family circle, & how deeply they must feel his loss..."
