COWARD, NOEL Musical quotation signed.
[N.p.: n.d.]. Musical quotation on a two-bar slip of sheet music, inscribed in the upper margin "To Lionel Aucoin from Noel Coward" above the opening lines of his 1930 hit: "Someday I'll find you/Moonlight behind you/True to the dream I am dreaming." 3 5/8 x 8 1/2 inches (9 x 21.5 cm). Lightly toned, remnants of mounting to verso, else fine; Together with a signed photograph, a sepia toned copy print, 9 3/4 x 8 inches, signed by Coward.
Despite his longevity in the theater, musical quotations from Coward are rare. The quotation here is from one of Coward's best known songs, "Someday I'll find you" from his 1930 comedy Private Lives.
