Two volumes, original pictorial gilt stamped plum cloth, terracotta endpapers with adverts. 8 5/8 x 5 5/8 inches (22 x 13.5 cm); (vol. 1) xxviii, 408 pp., 32 pp. adverts; (vol. 2) xii, 488 pp., errata slips in both volumes; 2 folding maps, 12 tinted lithographed plates. Spines a bit sunned, head and toe of spine a bit chipped, tear to cloth at mid-spine of volume 1. Occasional minor foxing, slightly shaken, overall a clean copy.
