Paris: Baillière, 1866. First edition. Quarter red morocco of the period, marbled sides. 6 5/5 x 4 inches (17 x 10.5 cm); [2] ff., 332 pp., [1] ff. ads; 3 mounted original albumen prints at end, with numerous engravings of apparatus in-text. Some wear, but internally clean, the photographic plates with excellent tones.
A very early work on the subject of photomicroscopy, apparently the first French work on the technology of the process.
