Chinese Blanc de Chine Figure of Guanyin
19th Century
Seated in dhyanasana on a lotus base, the left hand resting in the lap, the right holding the stem of a budding lotus, dressed in long robes secured at the chest, with a scarf over the shoulders and wearing elaborate necklaces, beaded arm bands and simple bracelets, the head bowed down in a meditative pose, the hair held behind a flaming pearl band and falling in tendrils over the shoulders, the back with two impressed seal marks. Height 14 inches.
