George III Carved Mahogany Bedstead
Last quarter 18th century
The front reeded baluster posts with overlapping upright leaves and tripartite wheat motif, and ending in square molded Marlborough feet; the plain square tapering back posts with slots for plain pine headboard; the four rails each with a slightlightly recessed edge and one molded edge. One back post appears to be oak, the other possibly fruitwood. Height 6 feet 11 1/4 inches, width 53 3/4 inches; depth 6 feet 5 1/2 inches.
