In the form of a bomb cartridge, with hinged cover and striker to bottom, engraved "With the compliments of Pinchin Johnson & Co. Ltd." Height 2 1/4 inches (5.5 cm), approximately 11 dwt.

Richard H. Jenkins, Canton, CT, May 1980

Pinchin Johnson & Co. Ltd. was a major paint company with operations across the British Empire. This novelty vesta case would have appealed to their clients patriotic duty in the midst of the First World War.
